Recent polling data indicates that former President Donald Trump and Democratic rival Kamala Harris are in a tight race in key swing states that often determine the outcome of US elections. Trump, who is the Republican candidate, has stated that he will not run for the presidency again if he loses the upcoming November 5 election.
During an interview on the news program Full Measure, Trump, who is now 78 years old, stated that he does not see himself running for president again if he is defeated by Harris. He expressed hope for success in the upcoming election and indicated that he would consider this his final run for the presidency.
Trump’s loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 election was contentious, as he refused to accept the results, claiming the election was fraudulent. This led to the violent storming of the US Capitol by his supporters in January 2021. Trump currently faces criminal charges related to his efforts to overturn the election results, which he denies as politically motivated.
While Trump has not definitively committed to recognizing the results of the November election, he has hinted that he does not plan to run for office again in the future. If he were to consider a fourth campaign for the White House in 2028, he would be 82 years old.
