The Chicago White Sox suffered their 121st loss of the season, breaking the MLB record for most losses in a season previously held by the New York Mets. Despite winning their division in 2021 with 93 games, the White Sox have been on a decline, winning only 81 games in 2022, and 61 games last season. They have won just 39 games so far this season. The team has been struggling on offense, ranking near the bottom in many statistical categories. First baseman Andrew Vaughn has the highest batting average on the team at .248. The White Sox started the season with a franchise-worst 3-22 record and lost 21 consecutive games, becoming the first team since 1988 to do so. The team has been struggling to win games, with only seven wins combined in July and August after winning nine games in May and June. Despite their struggles, the team posted a picture on social media shutting out comments and focusing on the next game.
