Israel has announced that additional troops will be joining its ground invasion into southern Lebanon. The IDF stated that the 36th Division, Golani Brigade, 188th Armored Brigade, 6th Infantry Brigade, and additional forces will be conducting limited, targeted raids on Hezbollah terror targets. Hezbollah has claimed to have carried out attacks on Israeli forces involved in the operation. The Sky News security editor shared a video of artillery fire close to the border.
Over 200 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from Lebanon, and about one million Lebanese people have been displaced by Israeli airstrikes. Hezbollah claimed to have targeted areas north of Haifa with missiles, causing warning sirens in northern Israel. Israeli media reported that houses were damaged by rockets in Metula. Lebanon’s information minister shared a video of telecomms equipment destroyed by Israeli airstrikes.
In Gaza, Israeli strikes killed at least 60 people, including in a school. Israel stated it is targeting Hamas, not civilians. In response to Iran’s missile attack, Israel’s foreign minister threatened retaliation. Iran’s foreign minister warned the US against intervening. German Chancellor called on Iran and Hezbollah to end their attacks. Hezbollah threatened to broaden its operations against Israel and target US and UK shipping. The conflict has resulted in many casualties and displaced civilians in Lebanon, Gaza, and Israel.
