Bronx Volleyball Team Wins Rhode Island Match at Rose Hill on Tuesday


In a thrilling match on Tuesday night, Fordham University Volleyball secured a straight-set victory over Rhode Island with an impressive performance. The team showcased an attacking display, recording 45 kills and nine service aces collectively. Whitley Moody, Audrey Brown, and Lorenza Rosenkilde led the Rams on offense with 13, 12, and 9 kills respectively. Emma Stammeyer and Whitney Woodrow delivered stellar assist performances, with Stammeyer achieving a career-high 21 assists.

The match started with Rhode Island taking an early lead, but Fordham quickly turned the tide, ultimately winning the first set 25-19. In the second set, Fordham defended a narrow lead to secure a 25-20 victory, going up by two sets. The third set remained competitive, with both teams battling closely. Fordham managed to pull ahead with a quick run to secure a 25-21 win and sweep the match.

The victory marks Fordham’s split season series with URI, highlighting the team’s strong form. Looking ahead, Fordham will travel to Charlotte, N.C. for back-to-back matches at Davidson this weekend. The team’s outstanding performance and teamwork are setting them up for continued success as they progress through their season.
