Fordham University Volleyball split their season series with Rhode Island after defeating them in straight sets behind a strong offensive performance. The team recorded 45 kills and nine service aces, with Whitley Moody leading with 13 kills, hitting .379. Audrey Brown added 12 kills, hitting .400, and Lorenza Rosenkilde contributed nine kills hitting .467. Emma Stammeyer dished out a career-high 21 assists, and Whitney Woodrow added 17 assists along with four service aces.
Rhode Island initially took the lead in set one but Fordham rallied back to win 25-19. In set two, Fordham defended a slim lead before securing a 25-20 win. The third set was a back-and-forth battle, but Fordham managed to pull ahead with a late run, winning 25-21 to sweep Rhode Island.
The team will now head to Charlotte, N.C. for a weekend of matches at Davidson on Saturday and Sunday. The strong performance against Rhode Island has set a positive tone for Fordham as they prepare to face their upcoming opponents.
