The University of Rhode Island Department of Athletics is hosting its annual giving day, now named the Rhody Athletics Challenge, on October 24. This fundraising campaign aims to provide operational support to enhance the success of URI’s 19 NCAA Division I programs. As of 2024-25, URI’s teams have had a strong start and the Rhody Athletics Challenge highlights the spirit of competition. Men’s and women’s teams have the chance to win bonus funds based on the amount of dollars raised and the number of donors. The top teams in each category will receive monetary prizes, ranging from $500 to $7,500. Additionally, the URI Spirit Squads will also be participating in fundraising, with the squad raising the most funds receiving $1,500. All gifts made prior to the event date will count towards the goal and supporters are encouraged to use the hashtag #RhodyAthleticsChallenge on social media to spread the word. The funds raised during this challenge are crucial for the ongoing success of URI’s athletic programs and will help provide necessary support for the student-athletes. Donations of any amount will make a significant impact on the future of URI athletics.
