Republican Voters Could Be the Key to Reelecting This Washington County Democrat – Rhode Island Current

Megan Cotter, an Exeter Democrat, is campaigning door to door in Richmond, facing a tough contest against Republican Justin Price. Cotter needs conservative voters to win in this blue state, where split-ticket voting is rare. Price has the support of some Republican leaders and has a much smaller war chest compared to Cotter. Despite their differences, residents are more focused on local issues like tax breaks for luxury developments in Richmond and Second Amendment rights in Exeter. Cotter is focused on making sure all voices are heard, even if they differ from her own. She faces challenges from residents who support Price and are influenced by national politics, but she is determined to do everything she can to win on Election Day. Rhode Island GOP Chairman Joe Powers did not provide support for Price. Several politicians have endorsed Cotter, recognizing her commitment to the community and her record of accomplishments. In a politically polarized climate, Cotter is striving to connect with voters across party lines and address their concerns in order to win the District 39 House seat.
