Despite the Chiefs’ strong defense, the Bills managed to score 30 points with a balanced offensive attack. Allen threw for 262 yards and also led the team in rushing. Buffalo’s ability to control the ball and convert on third downs helped keep Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes off the field, leading to his struggles in the second half. The loss was the Chiefs’ first in 328 days, dropping their record to 9-1 while the Bills improved to 9-2. Buffalo is now just half a game behind first place in the AFC. Although the Bills have beaten the Chiefs four times in a row in the regular season, they have never defeated them in the playoffs. The Chiefs have won three straight playoff matchups against the Bills. Both teams have strong playoff aspirations, with the Bills on a bye next week and the Chiefs facing the Carolina Panthers in their next game.
