Beloved actress Betty White, known for roles in “Golden Girls,”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” and “Boston Legal,” will be honored with a new postage stamp by the U.S. Postal Service in 2025. The stamp features a 2010 photo of White smiling in front of a purple background. The Postal Service described White as an “icon of American television” who shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades. The stamp was designed by artist Dale Stephanos based on the photo taken by Kwaku Alston.
The Postal Service also announced that musician Allen Toussaint will be featured on the Black Heritage series stamp in 2025. Toussaint, who died in 2015, was a virtuoso pianist, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer. The stamp includes a photo of Toussaint taken by Bill Tompkins in 2007 and was designed by Ethel Kessler.
Other stamp offerings in 2025 include a love-themed stamp featuring art by Keith Haring, a Lunar New Year stamp for the year of the snake, and a baby wild animal stamp collection. The Postal Service’s stamp services director, Lisa Bobb-Semple, stated that they are committed to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for philatelists and stamp enthusiasts. More stamps for 2025 will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
