Women’s Basketball Team Scheduled to Compete Against Wisconsin in Cancun Challenge

Providence College Women’s Basketball team made their first appearance at the Cancun Challenge, falling to VCU in the opening game. They will face Wisconsin and San Diego State in their remaining matchups. The team snapped a two-game skid with a win over Delaware, with graduate student Grace Efosa earning Big East weekly honor roll recognition. Olivia Olsen also reached the 1,000-point milestone and leads the team in rebounding. The team, under the guidance of coach Erin Batth, is a mix of veterans and new faces, with the Friars having a solid postseason history.

The Friars have shown promise with Efosa and Olsen leading the way, supported by a strong cast of players. With the team’s impressive showing and the return of point guard Kylee Sheppard, they are gearing up for more competition. The team will look to build on their performance at the Cancun Challenge and continue their dominance with Grace Efosa and Olivia Olsen leading in scoring and rebounding, respectively. The Friars are looking forward to their upcoming game against Rhode Island as they aim for continued success throughout the season.
