Thanksgiving high school football scores in Rhode Island for 2024


Despite weather challenges, all Rhode Island Thanksgiving high school football rivalry games were successfully played between Tuesday and Thursday. The oldest Turkey Day game, between Westerly and Stonington, saw Westerly secure its seventh consecutive win with a 24-6 victory. This historic rivalry dates back to 1911, with Westerly now holding a 52-44-9 lead in their Thanksgiving matchups.

Another long-standing rivalry took place between La Salle and East Providence, with East Providence winning 27-26 in a last-minute touchdown. Despite this loss, La Salle maintains a 55-37-2 lead in the overall series that began in 1929.

Other notable Thanksgiving games included North Kingstown defeating South Kingstown 19-15 for the eighth year in a row, as well as victories for teams like Barrington, Burrillville, and Central.
