The Providence College women’s ice hockey team suffered a 3-2 loss to Brown in the 29th annual Mayor’s Cup on November 30. Despite outshooting Brown in the first period, the Friars found themselves down 2-0. They bounced back in the second period with goals from Hannah Johnson and Lily Martinson, but Brown regained the lead early in the third period with a goal from India McDadi. Hope Walinksi made 20 saves for the Friars, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

With this loss, Providence’s record dropped to 7-7-3, while Brown improved to 7-5-1. The game was held at Schneider Arena in Providence, Rhode Island. The Friars will now prepare to face No. 11 Boston College in their next Hockey East action game in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
