Richard Coles, a favourite on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, has broken a series record for participating in the most Bushtucker eating trials. The Church of England priest and former member of The Communards has taken on a variety of gruesome challenges during his time on the show, including fermented Baltic Sea herring and various animal body parts.
During the finale on December 8th, Coles, along with fellow finalists Danny Jones and Coleen Rooney, was praised for his bravery and determination in facing the challenges set before him. Co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly highlighted Coles’ impressive feat of consuming a variety of unusual and unappealing foods.
Despite the unappetizing nature of the Bushtucker trials, Coles managed to eat everything that was presented to him, winning numerous meals for his fellow campmates along the way. In an interview with McPartlin and Donnelly after finishing in third place, Coles appeared unfazed by the challenges, even joking about wearing “camel anus patches” to wean himself off the unusual foods.
The finale of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! featured Coles alongside his fellow finalists in a recap of their journeys throughout the season. The show aired on ITV1 and ITVX, attracting viewers who were eager to see how the contestants would fare in the final challenges. Richard Coles’ record-breaking performance in the Bushtucker trials has left a lasting impression on fans of the show.
