Two individuals have been arrested by the Woonsocket Police Department in connection to a fatal stabbing that took place over the weekend, resulting in the death of Christopher Penado. The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Syll and Jacob Lopez Diaz, were charged with 1st Degree Murder, Conspiracy to commit murder, 2nd Degree Robbery, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. The incident occurred near 380 Social Street where Penado was found stabbed multiple times in a neighborhood parking lot. Despite being taken to Landmark Hospital, Penado succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s family revealed that Penado had just returned to Rhode Island after celebrating his 12-year-old son’s birthday in Florida. Syll and Lopez Diaz made an appearance in court where no plea was entered, and they have been remanded without bail until their next court appearance later this month. This tragic event has shocked the community and has left many questioning the senseless violence that led to the loss of a life.
