Sebastian Thomas’ spinning floater in overtime led Rhode Island to a 67-64 win over Richmond. Richmond had led for most of the game, with a strong first half performance, but URI rallied in the second half to force overtime. Richmond’s Dusan Neskovic scored a career-high 28 points and went 12-12 from the foul line. Richmond was playing without team captain DeLonnie Hunt, who was out with a foot injury. Coach Chris Mooney acknowledged the challenges of adjusting to new lineups in Hunt’s absence. Despite the loss, Richmond remains at 2-2 in the A-10 and is focused on improving for the future. Next, the Spiders will face St. Bonaventure in a Wednesday matchup. The team is looking to bounce back and continue to adjust to changes in their lineup.
