Two children, ages 2 and 9, died of suspected exposure to the cold after being found unresponsive in a van where their family was living in Detroit. The tragic incident occurred when their mother discovered them not breathing and called for help. Three other children survived, and an investigation by the police department is ongoing. Detroit police Capt. He emphasized the importance of seeking help from shelters, churches, or other facilities during extreme weather conditions and urged people to call 911 if they see someone in need.
