Providence Athletics Teams Up with Union Station Brewery to Create Friartown IPA


Providence Athletics has teamed up with Union Station Brewery to release Friartown IPA, a craft beer that benefits Friar student-athlete NIL. The IPA is a West Coast style with classic citrus and piney flavors, and a percentage of all sales will support The Friar Family Collective as NIL contributions for student-athletes. In addition to being sold at various locations throughout Rhode Island, Friartown IPA can also be enjoyed at Friar Athletics events and Union Station Brewery’s downtown Providence location.

The partnership between Union Station Brewery and Providence Athletics includes various promotional opportunities such as digital and in-venue signage, social media integration, and mobile app promotions. The collaboration was facilitated by Providence Friars Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Providence Athletics. Both parties are excited about the partnership and look forward to continuing to support Providence College and its student-athletes.

Union Station Brewery, located in the former Union Station train depot, has been a staple in the Providence community since 1993. In 2019, the brewery was purchased by local restauranteurs and bar proprietors who have since transitioned it to a true Rhode Island brewpub. The partnership with Providence College highlights the strong ties between the college and the local community.

Fans 21+ are encouraged to enjoy Friartown IPA responsibly and show their support for Providence College and its student-athletes.
