Rhode Island secured an 86-71 victory over La Salle on Saturday night, led by Jaden House’s 16 points. House shot efficiently from both the field and the free-throw line, while Javonte Brown chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds. David Fuchs also contributed with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Deuce Jones led La Salle with 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and six steals, but it was not enough to overcome Rhode Island’s strong performance. Corey McKeithan and Demetrius Lilley each added 13 points for the Explorers.
Rhode Island took an early lead and never looked back, securing a 38-34 lead at halftime. The Rams extended their lead in the second half with an 8-0 scoring run, ultimately closing out the game with a comfortable margin.
The Rams are set to face Saint Louis on the road next Saturday, while La Salle will host Richmond on Wednesday. Rhode Island’s win improves their record to 17-8, while La Salle falls to 12-14 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
