Former Providence College men’s soccer player Cole Dewhurst ’24 has signed his first professional contract with Rhode Island FC for the 2025 season. During his time at Providence, Dewhurst played in 65 games, made 67 starts, and contributed three goals and one assist. He was a key player in leading Providence to multiple BIG EAST Tournament appearances and NCAA Tournament runs. Dewhurst was also named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team in 2023. Rhode Island FC, competing in Division II of the USL Championship, had a successful inaugural season by winning the East Division title and reaching the USL Championship Final. Dewhurst’s signing adds depth and talent to the club’s roster as they look to build on their successful first season.
