As part of the Black Voices series and in honor of Black History Month, the United and Westerly Anti Racism Coalition will present a screening of the film “John Lewis: Good Trouble” followed by a discussion on advocating for change today. The event will take place at The United in Westerly. Wakefield Idol, a karaoke-style singing competition, is ongoing at the Contemporary Theater Company in Wakefield. Trinity Rep in Providence will present “Someone Will Remember Us,” a production featuring real-life testimonies of veterans, a Gold Star family, and refugees. The Gamm Theatre in Warwick will showcase “Between Riverside and Crazy,” while the Arctic Playhouse in West Warwick will present the comedy “Deadline.”
Additionally, various performances, talks, and events are scheduled in locations such as Stonington, New London, and Charlestown. Topics range from forensic science seminars and musical performances to historical talks and hikes. Tickets and registration details are available for each event, with a diverse range of activities celebrating both art and culture in the local community.
