The Brown women’s basketball team will face off against in-state rival University of Rhode Island Rams at the Ryan Center on Saturday, with tip-off at 1 p.m. The game will be televised locally on MeTV and streamed on ESPN+.
In their last game, the Bears dominated Johnson and Wales University with a 104-47 victory. Senior center Gianna Aiello achieved her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Mackenzie Leahy led the team with 18 points and first-year player Aima Ofunrein impressed with 13 points and six rebounds.
The Rams, with a record of 3-3, secured their third win against UMass Lowell with a score of 81-35. Sophie Phillips led the team with 14 points, followed by Ayanna Franks with 13 points. Harsimran Kaur leads the team with 60 points this season and Tenin Magassa is ranked second in blocked shots in the A10.
This will be the 42nd meeting between the Bears and Rams, with Brown holding a 14-27 record against Rhode Island dating back to the 1974-75 season.
