The George Washington women’s basketball team’s season came to an end after a 52-41 loss to Rhode Island in the 2025 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship. Despite a strong start by GW, Rhode Island fought back to take the lead going into halftime. GW’s defense held Rhode Island scoreless from the field in the third quarter, but the Rams still managed to extend their lead with free throws. Despite a late-game effort, GW couldn’t complete a comeback in the fourth quarter.

Makayla Andrews led GW with 14 points, followed by Kamari Sims with 11 points off the bench. Gabby Reynolds ended her all-rookie season with seven points and four rebounds, while Paige Mott grabbed 10 boards. The Revolutionaries finish the season with a 13-18 overall record for the second consecutive year and exit the A-10 Tournament in the second round for the second year in a row.

Despite the disappointing end to their season, GW showed promising performances from key players like Andrews and Sims. The team will look to build on these performances in the offseason to come back stronger next year. The Revolutionaries should be proud of their effort throughout the season and will aim to improve and compete at a higher level in the future.
