Celebrity Anglers Descend Upon Fort Worth for Fishing Tournament in Blustery Conditions, Competing for Prizes

The Bassmaster Classic Progressive Celebrity Pro-Am took place on Eagle Mountain Lake, with pro fishermen and celebrities competing despite strong winds. The event serves as a precursor to the Bassmaster Classic, offering a $300,000 top prize. Participants included a variety of celebrities from different industries, such as NFL, NASCAR, WWE, and musicians. Bluegrass musician Billy Strings and his partner Mike Iaconelli enjoyed their time on the lake despite not catching many fish.

Competitors were vying for a top prize of Yokohama tires and a $2,500 Bass Pro Shops gift card. The windy conditions made the tournament challenging, with gusts of over 20 miles per hour. Despite the weather, fans like Tanner Moulton still relished the event, with Moulton being one of the Bassmaster High School All Americans.

The Bassmaster Classic is expected to draw crowds of up to 150,000 to Fort Worth, with an economic impact of over $25 million for local businesses. The expo associated with the event will feature over 240 vendors in the Fort Worth Convention Center. The competition will take place at Ray Roberts Lake State Park, with all events being free to the public.

Fort Worth and Lake Ray Roberts previously hosted the event in 2021, attracting over 147,000 fans. The event is set to provide an exciting and competitive experience for both participants and spectators.
