A 45-year-old woman with autism and nonverbal communication abilities was found alive in a parked vehicle in Cranston, Rhode Island, after being missing for several days. Linda DaLomba was discovered at the intersection of Pond and Station streets and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation. The discovery came amid a criminal investigation involving the FBI. DaLomba lived in a caregiving facility operated by Seven Hills Rhode Island.
The Cranston Police Department expressed gratitude for the law enforcement agencies involved in finding DaLomba. The woman had been missing since Wednesday and was last seen in a group home in Lincoln. The investigation took a turn when surveillance footage showed that claims made by DaLomba’s caregiver about her disappearance were untrue. The caregiver provided conflicting statements, prompting the police to take over the case. Multiple persons of interest have been interviewed, and the FBI has also been involved in the search efforts. More details were expected to be revealed in a news conference scheduled for later in the day.
