The Rhode Island Lottery is upgrading their jackpot billboards to accurately display large jackpots. This change came in response to an inquiry from Ask Alison about when the signs would be updated. A new billboard has already been installed along the Wampanoag Trail, with two more to come this week overlooking I-95 from Elmwood Ave and along Route 146. The Department of Revenue, which oversees the Lottery, confirmed the update in response to concerns that the old billboards could only display up to $999 million, despite recent Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots exceeding a billion dollars. These new billboards will now have the capability to accurately showcase these massive jackpot amounts. Rhode Island residents can now look forward to seeing more precise and up-to-date information on the Lottery’s jackpot billboards, ensuring they never miss out on the chance to win big.
