The South County Art Association in Kingston, Rhode Island, is celebrating over five decades of its pottery studio with the upcoming exhibition, “Earthworks.” The exclusive clay work show features pieces from new and seasoned ceramic artists, honoring the unique nature of ceramic artwork made from clay. The exhibition, now in its 52nd year, continues to showcase the traditions and heritage of the association’s pottery studio. The show, curated by Jason Fong, includes new and exciting interpretations of the clay medium.
David “Swen” Swenson, a ceramic artist from Rhode Island now based in Minnesota, served as the guest artist and juror for this year’s “Earthworks” exhibition. The jurying process, known as a public jury, involved Swenson commenting on the submissions with the artists present. The exhibition opened yesterday and will run until May 10, with an opening reception scheduled for tonight from 6-8 p.m. Award winners will be announced at the reception. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the diverse clay artworks on display at this prestigious event.
