Leading the Polls: Front-Runners in the 2025 Polish Presidential Elections

The upcoming Presidential elections in Poland are shaping up to be a highly contested race, with frontrunner Rafal Trzaskowski leading the polls. Trzaskowski, from the Civic Platform party, is currently in the lead with an estimated 38.3% average in the polls, followed closely by independent candidate Karol Nawrocki, endorsed by incumbent President Andrzej Duda’s party.

However, the far-right Konfederacja candidate Slawomir Mentzen has seen a rise in popularity, especially among young voters on social media platform TikTok. This unexpected surge has made him a competitive challenger to Nawrocki.

The elections will be crucial for Poland’s current ruling coalition, as the results will determine their ability to address key issues such as civil partnerships, abortion rights, migration, and national defense. Incumbent President Duda, who is ineligible for re-election, has posed a conservative opposition to reform efforts by the ruling coalition.

The first round of the Presidential elections will take place on May 18, with results to be published by the National Electoral Commission. If no candidate secures at least 50% of the vote, a second round will be held on June 1st. The President-elect will take office on August 6 after being sworn in before a joint session of the Sejm and the Senate.

Overall, the upcoming elections in Poland are expected to have far-reaching impacts on the country’s political landscape and the direction of policy in the coming years.
