A traveling rodeo is seeking permission to return to North Attleborough this summer after a previous event resulted in 8 bulls escaping from the Emerald Square Mall parking lot. The incident occurred due to a dislodged fence pin during a two-day event, prompting authorities to chase the bulls along Route 1. Despite the mishap, representatives from El Ranchero Milagro assured Town Council members of their commitment to animal welfare and requested to host a “Festival Rodeo Event” on June 15.
While some residents like Kathleen Whipple expressed concerns about the safety of having bulls roaming freely, Town Council President John Simmons clarified that the decision is not within their jurisdiction. North Attleborough Town Manager Michael Borg stated that the town welcomes the organizers to discuss any future rodeo events with the Special Events Working Group and appreciates the safety measures proposed by the rodeo representatives. The fate of the rodeo in North Attleborough remains uncertain as discussions continue regarding the potential return of the event.
