The University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein College of Education is set to launch a new master’s degree program in educational leadership and policy in the fall. The program aims to prepare working professionals to become school leaders in K-12 education, focusing on equity, instructional leadership, and policy-informed practice. Students will develop skills to create a collaborative professional culture within schools, promote student success, and improve social and emotional well-being. URI Associate Professor Dan Kelley stated that there is a clear need for school leaders who are equipped to handle the challenges faced by schools today. The program is flexible, practice-oriented, and aligned with certification requirements, making it an attractive option for aspiring school leaders.
