URI to launch new educational leadership master’s program in the upcoming fall semester

The University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein College of Education is set to launch a new master’s degree program in educational leadership and policy in the fall. The program aims to prepare working professionals to become school leaders in K-12 education, focusing on equity, instructional leadership, and policy-informed practice. Students will develop skills to create a collaborative professional culture within schools, promote student success, and improve social and emotional well-being. URI Associate Professor Dan Kelley stated that there is a clear need for school leaders who are equipped to handle the challenges faced by schools today. The program is flexible, practice-oriented, and aligned with certification requirements, making it an attractive option for aspiring school leaders. The program is open to teachers, instructional coaches, deans, and other educators. Applications are currently being accepted, and more information can be found on URI’s website. This initiative aims to provide educators with the necessary tools and knowledge to become confident and effective leaders in the education sector.
