Spring Weekend Festival Delivers Mixed Experience for Brunonians
On Saturday, thousands flocked to Brown University’s Main Green for the annual Spring Weekend, marking 75 years of the beloved music festival. Despite intermittent rain and long lines, the day’s lineup showcased talents including Zack Fox, Ravyn Lenae, JT, and headliner Offset.
Kicking off the festivities, comedian and DJ Zack Fox energized the crowd with his animated style. While his remixes of R&B classics got the audience dancing, many felt his performance suffered from lengthy interludes that ultimately diluted engagement.
Next, Ravyn Lenae captivated attendees with her smooth vocals and emotional storytelling. Sharing personal anecdotes, including inspiration behind her hit song "One Wish," she delivered a vulnerable and dynamic performance that resonated with the audience.
Contrastingly, JT’s set focused more on dance than rap, as she played her tracks over speakers, leaving fans yearning for more vocal performance. Nonetheless, her magnetic stage presence kept spirits high.
Finally, Offset concluded the night with a high-energy set, engaging the audience with hits like “Bad and Boujee," despite moments of disconnect earlier in his performance. Overall, while not flawless, Spring Weekend 2025 left a lasting impression on attendees.
