Troy University’s Greg Price Recognized as a Leading Technology Executive in the Nation
Troy, AL—Troy University’s Chief Technology and Security Officer, Greg Price, has once again been honored as one of the nation’s top technology professionals by the prestigious Oncon Icon Awards. This marks the second consecutive year Price has secured a place among the Top 10 Technology Professionals of the Year, recognized for his outstanding innovation and leadership in the technology sector.
“I am truly humbled to be recognized among such esteemed company, which includes global CIOs and CTOs from Fortune 500 companies,” Price stated. He emphasized the extraordinary level of innovation present among this year’s honorees and expressed pride in representing Troy University.
The Oncon Icon Award celebrates the top 100 technology executives globally, with the Top 10 selected from a highly competitive pool, including leaders from renowned organizations such as Citi, Intel, and JP Morgan Chase.
In addition to his recent accolade, Price has been recognized for his public service, receiving a statewide award from the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) for his long-standing leadership on the Pike County Board of Education. He was named to the AASB’s All-State School Board in 2024, signifying one of the association’s highest honors. His contributions to the field are further highlighted by the publication of his latest book, Thriving Under Threat: A Practical Guide to Cyber Defense, earlier this year.
With nearly three decades at Troy University, Price has spearheaded initiatives in enterprise IT, infrastructure modernization, and cybersecurity innovation. Under his guidance, the university has garnered national acclaim for its cybersecurity operations, being named the top university security team in the U.S. by SecureWorld. Additionally, Price contributes his expertise to various cybersecurity advisory boards and has founded the Alabama Digital Forensics Institute, emphasizing his commitment to both technology and community safety.
