East Sussex, UK – A transformative lifestyle hotel and club brand, Crafted, is set to make its debut in late 2025 at Powdermills, an idyllic locale surrounded by a seven-acre private lake. Founded by Chris King, co-founder of the Birch hotel concept, Crafted is designed as a series of “life-friendly” hotels and clubs harmonizing hospitality with nature.
The inaugural property will be housed in a stunning Georgian Grade II-listed country house, featuring 55 elegantly designed rooms and suites by House of Dré. In addition to the main hotel, Crafted at Powdermills will offer luxurious accommodation with three cottages varying from three to five bedrooms, each complemented by a kitchen, dining area, and for the largest, a private garden, outdoor pool, and lakeside deck.
Crafted places a strong emphasis on creativity and community, with dedicated spaces such as the Craft Barn and Art Studio, where guests can engage in various artistic pursuits like ceramics and printmaking. The culinary offerings will be equally innovative, focusing on 75% British-sourced ingredients across its venues. The hotel will feature a pub, restaurant, and cocktail bar, led by an executive chef whose appointment will be announced soon. The outdoor area will boast an open grill and wood-fired pizza oven.
Chris King shared his vision, stating, “Crafted at Powdermills is just the beginning. Over the coming years, Crafted will expand into a unique network of hotels and clubs across the UK, each celebrating nature and creativity.”
