Press Release: New Culinary Gem JoRo Opens on Federal Hill
Providence, R.I. – A new dining and live music venue has emerged in the heart of Federal Hill. Joel Edwards recently launched JoRo, a unique restaurant showcasing the rich flavors of Liberia. After acquiring the space in April 2021, Edwards transitioned from being a landlord to fulfilling his long-held dream of restaurant ownership.
With 15 years of opera singing experience and over a decade in the restaurant industry, Edwards hopes to blend both passions in his establishment. JoRo, a two-level venue with double patios, is inspired by his family, with the name derived from his and his brother’s names—Joel and Roland. The menu features an enticing array of dishes, including fried chicken gravy mac and cheese, peppered chicken, and smoked fish pepper sauce, all lovingly prepared by family.
Edwards emphasizes creating a welcoming environment for creatives, eschewing the trend of hookah lounges to foster an atmosphere focused on music and good vibes. JoRo is set to host live music events starting May 16, and available for private bookings. Open from Thursday to Sunday, guests can enjoy this exceptional space and its vibrant offerings.
