Rhode Island Football Welcomes 25 New Players to 2025 Roster

Kingston, R.I. – The Rhode Island Rams football team continues to build on its successful momentum, announcing the signing of 25 new players for its 2025 roster. The impressive February recruiting class includes 15 true freshmen and nine transfer athletes, adding much-needed depth to the team following a historic season, where the Rams clinched the CAA Football Championship.

Head coach Jim Fleming expressed enthusiasm about the caliber and depth of the new additions, stating, "Winning a CAA Football Championship has only left our guys hungry for more." He believes the recruits embody the team’s values and showcases outstanding performance both on the field and in academic settings.

The new signings comprise a diverse mix of talent, including 13 offensive players and 11 defensive additions, with one specialist. Key positions strengthened include six offensive linemen, five linebackers, four tight ends, and four defensive linemen, among others.

Among the standout signings are Stephen Antonucci Jr., a state champion offensive lineman from Bishop Hendricken, and Jermel Bynum, a speedy defensive back from Norwalk, Conn., who clocked a 4.4 40-yard dash. Additionally, Antwain Littleton II, a former top-ranked running back, joins the Rams after stints at Maryland and Temple, reinforcing the running game.

Others of note include Will Dixon, a tight end who contributed to West Virginia’s Frisco Bowl appearance, and Aaris Bethea, a highly-regarded defensive lineman from Rutgers. This influx of talent brings the total number of signings for URI this winter to 31.

As the Rams gear up for the upcoming season, the combination of fresh faces and seasoned leaders aims to push the program to new heights. The coaching staff and fans alike eagerly anticipate the impact these recruits will have on Rhode Island Football.
