MAFS Cast Regains Control of Instagram Accounts Amid Strict Guidelines
More than a month after the conclusion of this year’s Married At First Sight (MAFS) season, cast members are finally regaining access to their Instagram accounts, previously managed by Channel 9’s social media team. While a select few participants—Dave Thomas Hand, Veronica Cloherty, and Clint Rice—were able to log back in last month, the majority will experience their first access this Monday.
As they step back into the social media spotlight, Yahoo Lifestyle reveals that the cast members must adhere to strict guidelines outlined by the network. One crucial rule prohibits them from announcing their return to social media, aiming to maintain an illusion of authenticity. “Avoid mentioning the publishing process or your ‘return’ to social,” instructs the guidelines, emphasizing that all content posted during the season was pre-approved by the channel.
Additionally, participants are prohibited from engaging in sponsored posts or brand deals, and are advised not to discuss behind-the-scenes experiences. While they can share personal content, it must comply with exclusivity and non-commercial constraints.
Interestingly, many cast members have utilized alternate social media accounts throughout the season to critique their portrayal and share personal insights. Participants like Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly frequently voiced their opinions via these platforms.
Now, with the season’s completion, the race is on to see who will break the new rules first. As of now, Jamie Marinos leads the follower count with 291,000, followed by Rhi Disljenkovic and Awhina Rutene, among others.
Ultimately, time will tell how the cast navigates their return to social media under these new parameters. Fans eagerly await the moment when cast members can interact freely once again.
