Tim Petit purchased a pink, limited edition President Trump-themed watch for his wife, Melanie, from the website GetTrumpWatches for approximately $640. Upon arrival, however, the watch prominently displayed “RUMP” after the vital “T” was omitted from the Trump logo.
“I’m very disappointed,” Petit expressed, highlighting their anticipation for the special gift and the quality they expected. Melanie, clearly upset by the error, questioned how such a mistake could slip through quality control.
The watch, marketed as a limited item and claimed to be one of only 250 produced, is branded as significantly enhancing “prosperity and love.” Despite the couple’s attempts to resolve the issue with the company, their complaints initially went unanswered.
After local news outlet WJAR took an interest in their story, Trump Watches responded with an apology and offered the Petits an $800 coupon. Notably, Trump Watches operates under a licensing agreement with the former president, while asserting that the brand is not affiliated directly with him or his organizations. The company has not yet commented further on this incident.
