WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary baseball team concluded its series against Rhode Island with a challenging 36-22 defeat on Saturday afternoon, putting the Tribe’s record at 1-2 for the season.

In a high-scoring encounter, left fielder Lucas Carmichael shone for the Tribe, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs and scoring three runs. The Tribe exhibited a brief surge in the second inning, catapulted by a three-run homer from right fielder Christian Rush, contributing to an impressive 10-run inning. Despite this, Rhode Island’s offense proved relentless, managing to score in every inning throughout the game.

Center fielder Ben Parker was a standout performer for the visiting Rams, racking up three hits and scoring three times. First baseman Charlie Iriotakis contributed significantly by driving in four runs. Pinch-hitter Jerry Barnes III impacted the game with a crucial three-run home run during the fifth inning. Freshman Jamie Laskofski showcased his talents by reaching base four times and scoring equally as many runs, while Derek Holmes had a notable performance, going 2-for-2 with a double.

On the mound, Parker Aikens was credited with the win for Rhode Island, while Nick Lottchea suffered the loss for the Tribe.
