ICE Arrests Honduran National on Child Trafficking Charges in Providence
Providence, R.I. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents apprehended Honduran national Vivian Gisselle Soriano-Neto on March 11, following serious charges related to child trafficking and the indecent solicitation of a minor. This operation, executed by ICE’s Boston Field Office alongside the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), stems from a prior arrest by the Providence Police Department on February 20.
Acting ICE Boston Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde stated, "Vivian Gisselle Soriano-Neto apparently trafficked a child for nefarious reasons. Anyone who would do them harm represents a significant threat to our community."
Soriano-Neto entered the United States unlawfully at the Calexico, California Port of Entry on October 25, 2017, and was subsequently detained. She was released on parole on November 17, 2017, under a notice to appear before an immigration judge. As the immigration and criminal proceedings unfold, Soriano-Neto remains in ICE custody, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to addressing threats against vulnerable populations.
