Two Adults Charged for Leaving Children in Car While Gambling

**LINCOLN, R.I. — Two adults face child neglect charges after leaving two young children unattended in a car while they gambled at Bally’s Casino on Friday. Brenda Gonzalez, 45, and Wilfredo Delgado, 41, reportedly left the children, aged 7 and 11, in the vehicle for an extended period.

Lincoln Police were alerted to the situation, leading to the arrest of both individuals. The Rhode Island Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) was notified, and the children were placed in the care of a family member. Local residents expressed outrage over the incident, with Kesha Raczkowski emphasizing the importance of prioritizing children. “The love of money and the greed of money… people need to understand what it means to be a parent,” she commented.

Gonzalez is currently out on $20,000 bail, while Delgado remains in custody for violating probation. Lincoln police highlighted that such incidents occur annually at the casino and emphasized their commitment to addressing child safety. “This behavior is both dangerous and unacceptable,” the department stated, vowing to hold accountable anyone who endangers a child.**
