Tragic Loss: Rhode Island Graduate Dies from Allergic Reaction Days After Commencement

In a heartbreaking incident, 22-year-old Timothy Howard, a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island, died from a severe allergic reaction to peanuts just days after earning his degree. His mother, Patty Howard, announced the tragic news on May 24, sharing their deep sorrow in a poignant Facebook post.

Timothy, who graduated on May 16, suffered an anaphylactic reaction after consuming a late-night snack believed to be contaminated with peanuts. His father, Tim Howard, recounted the shocking moment when Timothy woke them, struggling to breathe. Despite administering multiple EpiPens, the reaction progressed too rapidly.

Timothy, described as a "kind-hearted" and "empathetic soul," was well-loved by family and friends. His fraternity brothers from Phi Kappa Psi have initiated a fundraiser for the Food Allergy Research and Education organization, surpassing their goal of $25,000 to prevent similar tragedies.

The memorial service, held on May 30 in Brewster, Massachusetts, celebrated a young man whose kindness and passion for life touched many. Timothy is survived by his family, including his parents, sister, and extended relatives, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and friendship.
