Rob Gronkowski Set to Star in New Film ‘Bad News on the Doorstep’
Former New England Patriots tight end and football legend Rob Gronkowski will make his film debut in the upcoming feature “Bad News on the Doorstep.” The film tells the story of two Italian-American high school football players in 1950s New Jersey who find themselves embroiled in an organized crime ring.
Recently completed in Rhode Island, the film features a notable cast, including Academy Award-nominated actor Chazz Palminteri, renowned for his roles in "A Bronx Tale" and "The Usual Suspects." Palminteri’s son, Dante, and Nick Davi, the son of actor Robert Davi, take the lead roles, while their fathers portray mafia kingpins. The cast also stars Sistine Stallone, daughter of film icon Sylvester Stallone.
Directed by Tom DeNucci and produced by a team of Rhode Island locals, including Paul Luba and Chad Verdi, the film showcases various Rhode Island communities, including Providence, Cranston, Warwick, and East Greenwich. The highly anticipated film is scheduled for release in the third or fourth quarter of 2026, although distribution details are still pending.
Gronkowski, beloved for his time with the Patriots, played nine seasons and secured four Super Bowl championships. He is widely regarded as one of the best tight ends in NFL history and has earned multiple accolades, including five Pro Bowl selections and inclusion in the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 2010s.
Fans are eager to see if Gronkowski’s transition from the football field to the big screen will make waves just like his impactful sports career. As anticipation builds, “Bad News on the Doorstep” promises to deliver a gripping tale intertwined with themes of sports and crime.
