Emergency Protest Against ICE Scheduled in Providence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — In solidarity with ongoing protests in Los Angeles, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) Rhode Island is organizing an "emergency protest" against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and in support of immigrant communities. The rally is set for Monday at 6 p.m. at the Providence Federal Center, located at 444 Westminster Street.
In their announcement, PSL Rhode Island highlighted the recent large-scale demonstrations in Los Angeles, where tens of thousands faced off against the National Guard and federal police. They emphasized the growing grassroots movement across the United States, urging residents of Providence to join what they describe as a necessary uprising.
"This movement must become an uprising," PSL Rhode Island stated in a social media post, calling for community engagement in the fight against ICE policies.
As the situation develops, local residents and observers are encouraged to closely watch further updates from ABC6.
