Judge Upholds Ruling Banning Key Medical Testimony in High-Profile Case
DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Judge Beverly Cannone has reaffirmed her decision to limit the testimony of Dr. Elizabeth Laposata, the former chief medical examiner of Rhode Island, in the ongoing trial of Karen Read. Defense attorney Alan Jackson filed a motion asking the judge to reconsider her ruling, which prohibits Laposata from discussing her expertise on dog bites and claw scratches. Additionally, the defense is barred from introducing any photographic evidence of animal bites during her testimony.
