2025 Veterans Classic to Showcase Navy vs. Yale and Tulsa vs. Rhode Island on CBS Sports Network

Navy to Host 12th Annual Veterans Classic Basketball Doubleheader

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The U.S. Naval Academy is set to host the 12th edition of the Veterans Classic men’s basketball doubleheader on Friday, November 7. This year’s matchups include Navy facing Yale and Tulsa taking on Rhode Island, with CBS Sports Network broadcasting both games live. The Golden Hurricane and the Rams will kick off the evening at 6 p.m., followed by the Mids and Bulldogs at 8:30 p.m.

Held annually around Veterans Day, the Veterans Classic honors military veterans and showcases the Academy. Visiting teams are invited to engage with the Academy through guided tours and a lunch with Midshipmen prior to the games. The event pays tribute to veterans from all service branches during the doubleheader.

Tickets go on sale on August 18, available via phone or online, with reserved seats priced at $40 and general admission at $25. Navy holds a historical advantage over Yale with a 14-7 record in their all-time series, although the Bulldogs last triumphed in their encounter in 2006.

Navy enters the contest bolstered by the return of all five starters from a team that reached the Patriot League Tournament final last season. Coach Jon Perry expressed excitement about the opportunity to honor service and leadership while competing against highly respected programs. Yale has established itself in recent years, winning four of the last five Ivy Madness Tournaments and showcasing a formidable roster.

Tulsa and Rhode Island will also bring competitive energy to the event. Tulsa seeks to build on its previous success against the Rams, having won all prior matchups. With both teams eager to make early-season statements, this year’s Veterans Classic promises to deliver thrilling basketball while celebrating the brave men and women who serve the nation.
