Westerly High Senior Dylan Tallardy Readies for New Chapter in Theater

WESTERLY — Dylan Tallardy, a prominent figure in Westerly’s performing arts scene, is preparing to transition from high school to university life. As a leader in the graduating class of 2025, Tallardy will celebrate commencement with his peers this Friday before embarking on a new journey at the University of Rhode Island, where he plans to major in theater and minor in business.

Having participated in every WHS theater production over the past few years, Tallardy has showcased his immense talent. Notable roles include John “Jack” Worthing in "The Importance of Being Earnest" and the title role in "Sweeney Todd," both of which posed unique challenges. This year, he received an Ocean State Star Award for his work as musical director in "Hadestown: Teen Edition."

Beyond theater, Tallardy is a multi-talented student involved in athletics, music, and community service, including a sponsorship program for the Chorus of Westerly. He credits influential teachers, Ryan Zemanek and Sarah Ferry, for nurturing his passion for the arts. As he prepares for his future, Tallardy reflects on the lasting friendships and experiences gained during his high school years.
