SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police are investigating a serious crash involving a pedestrian and a tractor trailer on Interstate 295 North. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 26, 2025, shortly before 3 p.m., just south of Route 146.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, where the pedestrian was struck by the large vehicle. He was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical treatment. As of now, details regarding his condition have not been released.
