25 Years of Innovation: Celebrating GE Aerospace Türkiye Technology Center’s Growth and Impact
Istanbul, Türkiye – The GE Aerospace Türkiye Technology Center (TTC) recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, reflecting on a remarkable journey from its humble beginnings to becoming a global hub for aerospace innovation.
Opening its doors in 2000 with just a handful of engineers, TTC has grown exponentially, now employing over 500 scientists and engineers. Spearheading projects that span from the development of advanced engines like the GEnx and Catalyst to cutting-edge technologies for sustainable aviation, TTC plays a vital role in GE Aerospace’s global operations.
Highlighted during the anniversary event was the remarkable evolution of its workforce, exemplified by employees like Aleyna Dursun, who, despite being a toddler when TTC was established, now leads mechanical analysis engineering projects. Tevfik İnal, another success story, transitioned from a small-town dreamer to a principal systems engineer pivotal in integrating the F110 engine into Türkiye’s KAAN fighter aircraft.
The diversity of roles at TTC is immense, showcasing expertise from program leaders like Huriye Akıncı, who ensures compliance with environmental regulations, to senior managers like Halit Özkaya, administering design changes for aircraft engines.
Dr. Aybike Molbay, general manager of TTC, emphasized the center’s role in shaping the future of flight both regionally and globally. “We are confident that TTC will continue to expand its impact in the coming years,” she stated, reinforcing TTC’s mission to contribute to Türkiye’s aerospace industry while embodying GE Aerospace’s commitment to safety and innovation.
As TTC looks forward to the future, it stands as a testament to progress and an enduring legacy in the aerospace sector, committed to lifting people up and ensuring their safe return home. Through initiatives like the RISE program, TTC is poised to remain at the forefront of sustainable aviation technology.
