Suspicious activity reported at Lincoln Woods

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Law Enforcement recently investigated a suspicious incident at Lincoln Woods State Park on August 27th. Reports of a gray van led environmental police to the park at 10:30 a.m., but by the time they arrived, the van had already left the premises. Despite speaking with witnesses, law enforcement was unable to obtain the van’s license plate number from their conversations.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of the popular state park, which draws many visitors for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and picnicking. State officials are reminding park-goers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to authorities.

The Department of Environmental Management is continuing to investigate the incident and is urging anyone with information to come forward. In the meantime, they are working to enhance security measures at the park to ensure the safety of all visitors.

As this story develops, the community is encouraged to stay informed and follow any updates from local authorities. With the busy summer season in full swing, it is important for everyone to work together to keep public spaces like Lincoln Woods State Park safe and enjoyable for all.
