Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel in New York City by federal agents based on a sealed indictment filed by the Southern District of New York. His attorney expressed disappointment and stated that Combs had been cooperative with the investigation. Although the specific charges were not immediately clear, Combs has faced lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and misconduct, including from former girlfriend Casandra Ventura. Combs settled her lawsuit and denied any wrongdoing while facing additional lawsuits from others, including Dawn Richard, who alleged abuse and threats while working for him. In response to a video showing him assaulting Ventura, Combs apologized and sought therapy. Federal investigators also searched his homes in Miami and Los Angeles in relation to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and other crimes. Combs, a music mogul and entrepreneur, founded Bad Boy Entertainment and has been a trailblazer in hip-hop, fashion, and media. After the hotel incident, Howard University cut ties with him and rescinded an honorary degree and scholarship program. Combs also returned the key to the city of New York at the request of Mayor Eric Adams. He recently listed his California home for sale for $61.5 million after the property was raided by federal investigators.
