Brittany Furlan, Tommy Lee’s spouse, shares encounter with a coyote attempting to snatch her furry friend

Comedian Brittany Furlan saved her dog Neena from a coyote snatching by acting quickly and pulling the pet from the animal’s mouth. Furlan, who is married to musician Tommy Lee, shared surveillance video of the incident on Instagram, showing the coyote taking Neena near their pool in Los Angeles. Furlan mentioned that Neena’s extra weight helped prevent the coyote from carrying her over the wall. The couple was shocked by the encounter, which occurred in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Furlan emphasized the importance of pet safety and warned against leaving small pets unsupervised outside. Coyotes, common in parts of Los Angeles, typically weigh between 10 to 35 pounds and can pose a threat to small animals. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends bringing small pets inside at night and keeping an eye on them to prevent attacks. Additionally, removing attractants like trash and pet food can help deter coyotes. The state is estimated to have between 250,000 to 750,000 coyotes, which have adapted to surviving alongside humans in many communities. Furlan’s quick thinking and vigilance saved Neena from the coyote, underscoring the importance of pet safety in areas where these animals are present.
